Your Podcast is your own Social Network

Castopod has been implementing ActivityPub and exploring the Fediverse (and beyond!) since version alpha 42. That was in April 2021. (Time flies!)

At the same time, I introduced the "podcast:social" specification to the Podcasting 2.0 namespace. The purpose of these tags was to make sure that any platform can come, play and interact, without any bounderies, beyond Castopod and Mastodon.
And thanks to the hard work and collaboration from the PodcastIndex fellowship, the podcast:socialInteract tag has been approved and has a final specification!

Of course, Yassine (who never left on a 6 weeks vacation by the way… 😜) implemented the podcast:socialInteract in version v1.0.0-beta.9 so that it is available for every Castopod instance.

We forgot to spread the word, but thanks to Tim Apple, now the world knows! 😉
