Castopod Server is an open-source hosting platform made for podcasters who want engage and interact with their audience. Please note that Castopod is still under heavy development: it may not be 100% stable and some features are still being developed.
Thanks to the “locked” tag brought to you by the podcast namespace (from PodcastIndex.org), you can protect your podcast from being copied.
Installing Castopod is pretty straighforward. You do not need advanced skills in server administration. Depending on the traffic you expect, you may choose a dedicated server, a virtual machine or even a shared hosting (as long as it runs php/mysql and allows to specify root folder).
Once Castopod is installed, creating a new podcast is very easy. And because Castopod is multi-tenant, you can create as many podcasts as you want to!
Castopod provides great analytics data about your audience.
It all started in 1999 when Dan Libby and Ramanathan V. Guha at Netscape created RSS.
